If these details have changed please ensure you notify liaison@hesa.ac.uk to prevent any delay in the receipt of these codes.Interaction with colleaguesThe EMS collection contains data originating from both the Student and FSR returns. Nulls vs zeroes
If a data item is missing or not known the
cell should be left blank. Null is only used to represent the absence of a value
in a cell. Null should never be used to represent any other value, such as zero. Thus leaving a cell blank indicates that the data
item is missing or not known.
D38 Energy
From 2010/11 EMS collection onwards it will be required for all
institutions to report Energy Emissions values using Gross CV factors.
This will align with the approach used in the Government's
Sustainability of the Government Estates & Operations (SOGE)
framework. The Gross CV factors to be used are those defined by DEFRA. These factors are updated by DEFRA each year and a link to the latest version will be included in the C10042 EMS coding manual
