2010/11 Performance Indicators - Employment of Leavers

Employment indicators are published today on the HESA website at www.hesa.ac.uk/pis/emp


The full tables at www.hesa.ac.uk/pis/emp show the indicators for every HE institution in the UK alongside their benchmark.

Table E1a looks at full-time first degree leavers from 2010/11.

Summary tables showing statistics for the whole UK can be found here: www.hesa.ac.uk/pis/summary#employment.

The latest statistics at www.hesa.ac.uk/pis/emp show that 90.3% of full-time, first degree leavers from 2010/11 were in employment and/or further study approximately six months after graduation*. The graph below shows the employment indicator for full-time, first degree leavers from the years 2002/03 to 2010/11:

The percentage of full-time first degree leavers entering employment or further study has fallen from 92.5% in 2002/03 to 90.3% in 2010/11

  4. *Percentage calculations in the Performance Indicators are based on leavers who completed the Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education survey.   5. The PI tables include a Benchmark for each institution. This is a sector average adjusted for the type of institution in question. The benchmarks are not government targets or quotas. See the Guide to PIs for more information, or the Benchmarks page for full technical details.
