A review of the Higher Education - Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI) Survey for 2013/14 implementation and subsequent consultation took place in 2012. A review group including representatives from funding bodies, HE institutions (HEIs), UK Governments, Technology Strategy Board (TSB), Research Councils (RCs), knowledge exchange bodies, Universities UK (UUK), GuildHE, the Council for Industry and Higher Education (CIHE) and the Association for University Research and Industry Links (AURIL) identified issues for review and developed proposals for change.This was the first review of the HE-BCI Survey since HESA took on responsibility for the collection for 2008/09.
HESA has now published version 1.0 of the C13031 FSR with HE-BCI Survey coding manual.
This version of the manual publicises the changes to the Higher Education Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI) Survey, following the review and subsequent consultation.
Included in this release are the Part A questions and Part B template, and documentation describing the changes to Part A and changes to Part B. Revised guidance has also been released for both parts of the survey.
