HESA issues a licence to use raw data supplied through the Information Provision Service for specific purposes relevant to each client.

In cases of the supply of detailed data extracts, these licences are issued for fixed time periods, after which all copies of raw data must be destroyed. This condition does not apply to secondary analyses of raw data undertaken by clients.
