HESA training: bespoke training visits

 

HESA's bespoke training service is an innovative way of training your staff in a convenient and cost effective way. Bespoke training is designed around your own spefications and can be delivered in-house or at a time and location to suit you. We provide a wide range of programmes all of which are facilitated by experienced trainers.

To assist you with your booking we have compiled a detailed list based on our most commonly requested sessions. The duration of each session is approximate and we are happy to adjust the content and timings to suit your institution's own individual needs.

A visual walkthrough of the heidi system which includes examples of viewing and creating reports and charts, setting up groups and exporting material to other programs.
  • Staff members with little or no previous knowledge of the heidi system
  • Used frequently as the closing session

heidi presentation
A presentation explaining the heidi system in detail. This presentation covers the system capabilities, the data contained within heidi, how it can and should be used including common pitfalls. The heidi demonstration and overview of HESA and the records is incorporated into this session.
  • Suitable for staff members at all levels who wish to increase or develop their knowledge of the heidi system
2 hours
heidi interactive workshop
An interactive workshop in which delegates will have the opportunity to extract and manipulate data within the heidi system through various tasks. The tasks will be tailored to your institution's needs and can be designed around all or some of the records depending on your preference.
  • To be run following the 'heidi presentation' session
  • Suitable for staff members at all levels who wish to increase or develop their knowledge of the heidi system

Student record introductory training A training session offering a basic introduction to the Student record. The training will cover the record fields, validation processes and onwards use of the data. A training manual will be provided to each delegate for reference during the day, which can be used for onwards support and guidance.
  •  Staff members with little or no previous knowledge of the Student record

Student record advanced training A more detailed training session on the Student record. The training will cover the record fields, validation processes and onwards use of the data at an advanced level. A training manual will be provided to each delegate for use during the day, which can be used and onwards support and guidance.
  • Staff members who have previously received 'Student record introductory training'
  • Staff members who have already been through a Student record submission cycle

Staff record advanced training
A more detailed training session on the Staff record. The training will cover the record fields, validation processes and onwards use of the data at an advanced level. A training manual will be provided to each delegate for use during the day, which can be used for onwards support and guidance.
  •  Staff members who have previously received 'Staff record introductory training'
  • Staff members who have already been through a Staff record submission cycle

EMS record introdutory training A training session offering an overview of the Estates Management Statistics (EMS) record and the entire collection process.
  • Staff members with little or no previous knowledge of the EMS record

DLHE record 

A training session offering an introduction to the DLHE record. The training will cover the record fields, methodology, validation processes and onwards use of the data. A training manual will be provided to each delegate for reference during the day, which can be used for onwards support and guidance.
  • Staff members with little or no previous experience of the DLHE record
2 - 3 hours

FSR record with HE_BCI

A training session offering an introduction to the FSR record with HE_BCI. The training will cover the record fields, collection, validation processes and onwards use of the data.

Consultancy

As part of our bespoke training visit service we can also provide you with an individualised consultancy service. This service is available to help you identify areas for data quality improvement from the previous data collection cycle as well as any data concerns, issues or unusual reporting cases faced by your institution. As part of this service we will investigate and analyse your institution's own data (check documentation) for either some or all of the record collections. This documentation will be the focal point for discussion and advice. This service can be the main focus of your visit or can be incorporated into a bespoke training visit incombination with the above sessions.

Costs

A bespoke training visit is priced at £700 (excluding VAT) plus travel/accommodation costs (where applicable)*. This is our standard fee which usually includes up to two trainers on the day and we do not limit the amount of delegates who wish to attend.

Once you have found a suitable day and have considered your ideal programme please proceed to the booking form. Please note that bespoke training visits usually run for approximately six hours, including a scheduled lunch break. We are happy to adjust this if required.
