Total repairs and maintenance costs for the non-residential estate. This figure should include buildings, grounds and playing field repairs and maintenance costs. Care should be taken to avoid double-counting between Capital expenditure buildings and the repairs and maintenance costs returned in this field. It is expected that the Non-residential repairs and maintenance costs total will be lower than the Finance record Table 8 UK 'Expenditure by activity and HESA cost centre' Sub-head 4a 'Premises: Repairs and maintenance', column 3 'Total staff costs' plus column 5 'Other operating expenses'. This is due to the FSR figure including all 'estates administrative staff', whereas for EMS purposes staffing costs will be split out between Repairs and maintenance costs and Internally-incurred property management costs. Costs should be reported as complete and should include VAT where it is attracted. Thus, providers should report the actual cost to the organisation. |
