return to index

Version 1.0 Produced 2010-03-15

This document summarises the main changes in the 2010/11 Student record from the 2009/10 Student record. Note that changes after the first release of documentation (i.e. from version 1.0) are detailed in the Revision history.

Summary of changes

  1. Student.DISABLE
    With the introduction of the Disability Equality Duty, and on the recommendation of the Equality Challenge Unit (ECU), HESA has introduced a new version of the coding frame. Codes 51, 53, 54, 55 and 56 have been added to the valid entries list for 2010/11 entrants onwards. HESA will continue to accept codes 02, 03, 04, 05, 06, 07, 10, 11, 97, 98 and 99 for continuing students, so there will be no requirement for institutions to resurvey or recode. However, institutions are welcome to use the new codes for continuing students if they wish to do so.

  2. EntryProfile.QUALENT3
    New field, with new list of valid entries, created for Highest qualification on entry. EntryProfile.QUALENT2 is retained for continuing students, so there will be no requirement for institutions to resurvey or recode. However, institutions are welcome to use the new codes for continuing students if they wish to do so.

    The following updates have been made consequent on this change:

  3. StudentOnModule.LANGPCNT
    Percentage of module taught in Celtic language has been moved from the Module entity to the StudentOnModule entity.
