Notes

The configuration of REF units of assessment for staff is explained in Units of assessment and recruitment of expert panels.

The first two characters are the Unit of Assessment the member of staff was associated with in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework (REF). The final character is the letter denoting the multiple submission the member of staff was associated with or 'Z' where a multiple submission was not made.

Valid entry patterns are: 01 - 36 followed by a letter A, B, C or Z.

This field is not required for 2012/13.
