Only one box ticked by the HE leaver can be coded. Should the HE leaver tick more than one box, code the one nearest the top of the list as ordered in the valid entries.

Please note the valid entry order is different to that used in the questionnaire, but is consistent with previous codes for the TYPEQUAL field.

The information captured relates to what the HE leaver considers to be their MAIN study.

A response to the question is expected if the following codes were used for Q1 (Student.ALLACT): 5 'Engaged in full-time further study, training or research' or 6 'Engaged in part-time further study, training or research'.

Change management notesThe labels for valid entries 02, 04 and 06 have changed to 'Higher degree, mainly by taught course (e.g. MA, MSc, MBA)', 'First degree (e.g. BA, BSc, MBChB, MEng)' and 'Professional qualification (e.g. ACA, Charted Institute of Marketing)' to accommodate changes to the examples. The question has been renumbered following the removal of Study.COURSENO in line with the 'Changes to the questionnaire' document.
