Data collection schedule

Version 1.2 Produced 2015-06-10

The details of students on an ITT course need to be forwarded to the National College for Teaching and Leadership (NCTL) for the purpose of allocating a Teacher Reference Number (TRN). Data for all NCTL-funded ITT provision must be provided as a first submission by 1st October 2014, and should be finalised by the 2nd Wednesday in October. HEIs can, with NCTL permission, update this information until the 4th Wednesday in October and it is on this date that the final download of data will be taken by the NCTL. NCTL will use this data to create the Trainee Numbers Census. Timings for the QTS and Induction division of the NCTL are very much dependent on the start date of the individual student on the course and could be anytime in the reporting period 01 August 2014 - 31 July 2015. As there are likely to be many commencement dates HESA will not be monitoring or chasing up individual submissions.
