KIS record 2014/15

Guidance for joint medical and pharmaceutical schools and other special cases

return to index

Version 1.0 Produced 2014-01-16

From KIS 2014/15 (C14061) the Joint school UKPRN (JOINTUKPRN) field, designed to record the UK Provider Reference Number (UKPRN) for identification of linked courses at joint medical school and pharmaceutical schools, has been removed.

From 2014/15 joint schools and other special cases that have been given approval by their appropriate funding council are to submit KIS data in their own right, as a registering provider.

Where the special case is a joint school, one of the partners must take responsibility for the submission of data for the KIS and will receive the access code for submission. This responsibility for submission of the KIS is to be decided between the partners of each school, and Institutional Liaison at HESA notified to enable access codes to be sent to the appropriate contact.

The submitting provider will need to include all courses meeting the Coverage of the record in the HESACourse entity, both from their own and, if relevant, partner provider.

The schools and institutes with approval for the submission of a KIS as a registering provider are listed below, along with the UK Provider Reference Number (UKPRN) or dummy PRN for use in the KIS submission:

  • University of London Institute in Paris - 10007812
  • Medway School of Pharmacy - 99999997
  • Hull York Medical School - 99999998
  • Brighton and Sussex Medical School - 99999999
