This document summarises the known changes to the Student record for 2015/16.
It supplements Circular 15/01, which has documented some intended changes following consultation in January 2015.
Changes to the recording of HE provision
Further to the announcement in the Circular that HEFCE would be likely to require data on postgraduate bursaries (for providers in England only), a valid entry was added to the Instance.INITIATIVES field in the 2014/15 Student record to collect this information: E 'Postgraduate Support Scheme (HEFCE)'. This valid entry is maintained in the 2015/16 record, and so no further changes are needed.
Changes to the recording of FE provision
Following the publication of the Circular, a number of subsequent changes have been identified which relate to the recording of further education provision in England within the Student record. These changes are required to maintain the alignment of the HESA Student record with the FE Individual Learner Record (ILR).
Full documentation for the 2015/16 Student record, along with the associated XML schema, will follow in September 2015.
