Coverage of the record 1.1 Guidance has been amended to more clearly state that the figures returned in Tables 1 - 4 must be identical to the HEP's audited/published financial statements and to give a link to the BUFDG model financial statements for reference.
Table 3 - Consolidated balance sheet 1.1 Guidance amended to clarify that swaps should not be returned under bank loans, but under the 'Other' Sub-heads within Heads 3 and 7.
Table 6 - Tuition fees and education contracts 1.2 Guidance added to state that postgraduate taught students in receipt of Postgraduate loans, the source of fees should be Other (Column 3).

Table 6 - Tuition fees and education contracts 1.1 Guidance has been amended in Table 6, to clarify split fee incomes in England and that for EU domicile students only a single fee income figure is required.

Table 1 - Consolidated statement of comprehensive income and expenditure 1.0 Table 1 Head 1f (Total income before donations and endowments) has been removed as it is no longer required by the SORP.
Table 3 - Consolidated balance sheet 1.0 Additional guidance has been added to Table 3, to clarify that for English HE providers, swaps should not be returned under bank loans.
Table 3 Scotland - Investments and cash 1.0 Two new additional lines have been added to Table 3 (Scotland), to allow deferred grants to be returned under heading Investments and Cash and Cash equivalents and Interest rate hedges (SWAPs) under Creditors amounts falling due within and after one year headings.
Table 4 - Consolidated statement of cash flows 1.0 Additional Head 6 (Other) has been added to Table 4. Table 4 Head 3c has been amended to allow providers to submit positive values.
Table 5 - Research grants and contracts 1.0 Table 5 - Head 6 Balance of Research related deferred capital/revenue grants has been removed.
Table 6 - Tuition fees and education contracts 1.0 An additional heading (for providers in England only) has been introduced to Table 6, for the collection of fee income from EU domicile students.
Table 7 - Funding body grants (country specific) 1.0 Guidance for Table 7 (England) has been added to specify that HEPs should return research income from the Newton Fund under the delivery partner.
Guidance for Table 7 (Wales) has been added to clarify that Head 2 should include all grants received from the Welsh European Funding Office (WEFO).
Table 8 - Expenditure by activity 1.0 References to Postgraduate Support Scheme have been removed from the guidance in Table 8.
Key Financial Indicator (KFI) definitions 1.0 The key financial indicators have been added to the coding manual, including the following changes:
KFI 7 has been amended to include one decimal place to provide more accuracy.
KFI 10 has been removed, as this has been removed from the template.
