Students who transfer to a new learning aim with the same provider should be recorded using code 3 in this field and the Reason for withdrawal field should be completed with code 40.

For Apprenticeship Standards, the learning activities for the programme aim include both the training and end point assessment. Code 2 must only be used for the Apprenticeship Standard programme aim where both the training and end point assessment activities have been completed.

The final ILR return of the year should be updated with a status of 'withdrawn' for any learners who do not return for a second or subsequent year.

Agreed breaks in learning (Skills Funding Agency funded provision in England)

Code 6 should be used in circumstances where the learner is taking an agreed break in learning and is planning to return, for example, for sick leave or maternity leave.

When a learner returns from an agreed break in learning, a new engagement entity should be created.

Where a learner does not return from an agreed break in learning this field should be changed to code 3.
