Type | field |
Short name | CONTPCODEPAST |
Description |
This field records the postcode of the contact address of the student prior to enrolment. |
Applicable to | England |
Coverage | All LearnerContact records. |
Notes |
The postcode prior to enrolment is completed when the student first enrols on a programme of learning with a provider. It should not be updated if the student moves house during this programme of learning (which includes between teaching years if the programme of learning extends over more than one teaching year). Providers must ensure that the postcode prior to enrolment is not changed to influence funding for learning aims that are already in progress. The current postcode may differ from the student's current contact postcode (LearnerContact.CONTPCODEPCURR, where a student has subsequently changed residence since enrolling, for example if they are living away from home. For learners who were not resident in the UK prior to the start of learning (and therefore do not have a UK postcode prior to enrolment), an empty element should be returned i.e: <CONTPCODEPAST></CONTPCODEPAST> Where an empty element is returned, any Individualised Learner Record (ILR) data generated from this field will be populated with ZZ99 9ZZ. The postcode must be returned in Uppercase. |
