The following three tables provide details of the qualification grades that are valid with particular entry qualifications. These are provided for guidance when submitting data in the QualificationsOnEntry.QUALTYPE and QualificationsOnEntry.QUALGRADE fields. This information is split into three categories for ease of reference.

Please note that within the Specification for the UCAS data for HESA transaction, in some cases UCAS has assigned the same QUALTYPE code to a qualification which may be awarded at more than one level of achievement. It is assumed that where this QUALTYPE is returned to HESA, the qualification is achieved at level 3.
Where a QUALTYPE code applies to a qualification which may be awarded at more than one level of achievement, only the level 3 QUALGRADEs are documented in the table.
