Unistats record 2018/19 - Notification log
This document summarises all communications associated with the 2018/19 Unistats collection, from first publication of known changes to the record through to collection closure in July 2019. Please refer to the Revision history document for full technical list of changes to the specifications.
HESA issue regular communications during the life of a collection:
- Circulars: announcements to interested parties concerning or issues relating to the collection. Circulars are always made available on the HESA website for later reference, and emailed out to the mailgroup for the collection.
- Coding manual release overviews: these document iterative changes to the technical documentation that define the form of the data to be submitted, as well as being a place to host resources associated with collecting that data.
2019-08-08 Coding manual release - version 1.11
The following changes have been made to the Accreditation information table.
- A new ACCTYPE 20501 has been added.
2019-04-02 Coding manual release - version 1.10
The following changes have been made to the Accreditation information table.
- The Accrediting body name for ACCTYPE 13101
- The Accreddtation type text for ACCTYPE 06201
- The URL for ACCTYPE 02701
2018-11-05 Coding manual release - version 1.9
The URL for ACCTYPE 08301 has been updated in the Accreditation information table.
KISAIM 192 has been added to the list of course aims.
2018-09-05 Coding manual release - version 1.8
The dates has been changed in the Data collection schedule.
2018-08-09 Coding manual release - version 1.7
The following ACCTYPE 09405 has been updated in the Accreditation information table.
Three new KISAIMS(189,190,191) have been added to the list of course aims.
2018-07-27 Coding manual release - version 1.6
The following documentation has been updated in this release:
The Unistats output schema has been changed to account for the inclusion of LEO data.
The following ACCTYPEs 13901, 03501, 18801 and 02201 have been updated in the Accreditation information table.
KISAIMs 185, 186, 187 and 188 have been added to the List of KIS Course Aims lookup table.
2018-06-28 Coding manual release - version 1.5
The following documentation has been updated and added to the coding manual:
The new Unistats widget user guide has been added in this coding manual release.
Also, the Data collection schedule document has been updated to explain when Nil Return Sign-off form should be sent to HESA.
The URL for ACCTYPE 14101 has been updated in the Accreditation information table.
2018-05-25 Coding manual release - version 1.4
All preview period stages have been removed from the Data collection schedule and only one final submission and sign-off date is available.
ACCTYPEs 01106 and 01107 have been removed from Accreditation information table.
2018-05-17 Coding manual release - version 1.3
- Accrediting body name and URL for ACCTYPE 16601 has been changed in the Accreditation information table,
- The guidance of Inclusion of NSS and DLHE data has been released under the Onward use of data section.
2018-05-04 Coding manual release - version 1.2
- The Unistats output schema and the Unistats dataset file structure and description document have been added under 'Data specification' and 'Supporting documentation' sections respectively.
- Validation overview document has been added under 'Submission process and quality assurance' section,
- KISAIM 184 has been added to the List of KIS Course Aims lookup table,
- Accrediting body name and URL for ACCTYPE 01701 has been changed in Accreditation information table,
2018-03-22 Coding manual release - version 1.1
The following documentation has been updated and added to the coding manual:
- The Accreditation information table.
- The Data requirements for new courses,
- The Collaborative provision guidance document,
- The HESA XML data entry tool,
- The guidance on how to use the HESA XML data entry tool,
- The Download validation kit,
- The List of KIS course aims,
- The Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) and course accreditation guidance,
- The Publication arrangements documentation,
- The Quality rules,
- The Years to which fields relate.
2018-02-19 Coding manual release - version 1.0
Version 1.0 of the coding manual includes the first release of documentation for Unistats record 2018/19. This includes the schema, field specifications and guidance as well as the changes announced previously for this collection in the Notification of changes for C18061.
