This field is derived from the externally coded field ZSIC2007, 'Standard Industrial Classification 2007 for the Graduate Outcomes survey'.

Note that the externally coded field ZSIC2007 has been specified to be returned as 5 character length which may contain both 4 and 5 character codes with HESA is receiving the full sub-class classification, including the final digit, where it is applicable. The technical specification below uses a trim of the first 4 characters to create the 22 groups used in this derived field.
