For England and Wales, an ESFA/DfES student is defined as a student following a course leading to a general qualification aim at FE level and any other student following a course funded by the ESFA or WG-DfES (and which may be at FE or HE level). Students coded 1, 3 or 4 will be regarded as FE funding council students. Students coded 2 will be assumed to be HE level students, with no ESFA/DfES funding. For providers in England, only valid entry 2 & 3 should be used. Valid entry 3 can be used for ESFA/DfE funded Higher Apprenticeships. If a provider believes they have other students in this category contact HESA before coding |
