This field derives the highest qualification on entry information collected in the EntryProfile.QUALENT3 field on both the Student record (Cyy051) and the Student Alternative record (Cyy054).

Where entry profile information is required for an instance, EntryProfile.QUALENT3 will be returned during the collection. EntryProfile.QUALENT3 is not compulsory, and may be returned as null.

Access to HE courses are included with Level 3 qualifications. The Access to HE qualification is equivalent in standard to other Level 3 qualifications, such as A levels, and has been recognized as a full Level 3 qualification in the Labour Force Survey. However, it stands outside the National Qualifications Framework, because it is regulated by the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (rather than the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority) and awarded by local (rather than national) awarding bodies.
