Depend upon fields
This field groups the output of derived field XDOMGR01 into a four-way marker.
The valid entries in XDOMGR01 for the UK are codes as described in Region (Office for National Statistics) in the ONS Postcode Directory (ONSPD). Non-UK codes are derived from an overseas look-up table, provided by HESA Data Management. Where no UK or overseas region can be derived, NOTK 'Not known' is output in XDOMGR01.
For the purpose of this field UK includes Guernsey, Jersey and Channel Islands not otherwise specified. Officially, the Crown Dependencies of Guernsey, Jersey and the Isle of Man are not part of the UK or the EU. In HESA analyses they are, however, often grouped as UK domicile.
Other European Union domiciled students are those whose normal residence prior to commencing their programme of study was in countries which were European Union (EU) members as at 1 December of the reporting period. Other European Union countries in this context are the Member States of the European Union, including their outermost regions, overseas countries or territories. These include the Åland Islands, the Canary Islands, and the French overseas departments of French Guiana, Guadeloupe, Martinique and Réunion.
