Unistats record 2019/20 - Accreditation information table

Version 1.6 Produced 2020-06-24

This table contains the accrediting body and the type of accreditation awarded, returned in Accreditation.ACCTYPE

Each accrediting body has one or more types of accreditation. Each type has a code in Accreditation.ACCTYPE made up of the accrediting body code, followed by a further two digits; each accreditation type will also link to a centrally maintained descriptor and an associated URL.

Providers implementing the Higher Education Achievement Report will be aware of the need to populate section 5.2 Professional status (if applicable) for their graduates. In this section providers provide details of any rights to practise or professional status accorded to the holders of the qualification.

While the responsibility for ensuring accurate information in the HEAR in respect of the relationships between Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) and programmes of study rests with providers themselves, the statements below, prepared for the Unistats record and covering both accreditation and recognition aspects, will provide a good start. PSRBs were given the opportunity to provide additional text for use in the HEAR. This text is provided over and above the short ACCTYPE statements and, where bodies have provided this, it is in the final column of the table. The additional work required from providers to populate HEAR records should hopefully be kept to a minimum by this initiative.

The Accreditation information table is also available for download as a csv file, however providers will need to download a new version each time the valid entries are updated.
