The Scottish Government have defined a British Sign Language user as a deaf and/or deafblind person (someone who receives the language in a tactile form due to sight loss) whose first or preferred language is British Sign Language. Returning 01 in this field indicates the student is a British Sign Language user by the above definition. If the student is not a British Sign Language user, this field should not be returned. 99 is returned where the data is not known by the provider. If this data changes during a student’s Instance, this field should be updated. |
