Unistats record 2022/23 - Notification log
This document summarises all communications associated with the 2022/23 Unistats collection, from first publication of known changes to the record through to collection closure in July 2023. Please refer to the revision history document for full technical list of changes to the specifications.
HESA issue regular communications during the life of a collection:
- Circulars: announcements to interested parties concerning or issues relating to the collection. Circulars are always made available on the HESA website for later reference, and emailed out to the mailgroup for the collection.
- Coding manual release overviews: these document iterative changes to the technical documentation that define the form of the data to be submitted, as well as being a place to host resources associated with collecting that data.

The following documentation has been added to the coding manual:

- Publication arrangements
- Unistats dataset file structure and description
- Unistats output schema
- Years to which fields relate
Updates have been made to the accreditation information table on the 2022-06-16.
2022-05-24 Coding manual release - version 1.2
The nil return sign-off form has been added to the coding manual under the 'Submission process and quality assurance' section.
Please note following the release of the quality rules, several rules have been downgraded to warnings following the coverage change to only allow providers with registered students to make the Unistats submission.

Guidance within the coverage has been updated following confirmation from Statutory Customers that the Unistats return should only be submitted by the registering provider from C22061 onward.
2022-02-25 Coding manual release - version 1.0
Version 1.0 includes the following:
- The first release of documentation for Unistats record 2022/23.
- The data collection schedule has been released under 'Overview'.
- The subcontractual and collaborative provision, UCAS and HESA glossary for Unistats course management and UCAS and HESA Unistats process for providers C22061 (2023/24) documents have been released under the 'Supporting documentation' section.
- The support guides have been added under the new 'Support Guides' section.
- Guidance has been updated for the entities HESACourse and ILRAims.
- Guidance has been updated for the fields Institution.OTHERINST, KISCourse.HECOS and
KISCourse.LDCS . - Valid entry changes have been made for KISCourse.TTCID.
