| Notes | Multiple students may have the same NUMHUS but each combination of Engagement.NUMHUS and Student.SID must be unique within a provider. A student cannot have two Engagements with the same NUMHUS. This will allow each Engagement to be uniquely identified. As a consequence of this providers may find it easier to number student Engagements sequentially: starting from 1 or A etc. For continuing students previously returned to HESA in the Student or Student Alternative record, the Engagement.NUMHUS must align with the Instance.NUMHUS to allow for continuity validation. Personal characteristics such as student names or dates of birth should not be used in the population of this field. |
