Notes | This entity records the student's proficiency in a given language. For providers in Wales This is required for students with a permanent home address on entry in Wales studying at Welsh providers. Providers in Wales are required to return the entity for each of the proficiency type that a student has and the level (or ability) is only returned where the proficiency type is 02 'Speak' It is expected that this entity would be updated during the lifetime of an Engagement to allow for a student to become more proficient over time. For providers in Scotland Providers in Scotland are required to collect information about whether students with a permanent home address in the UK are British Sign Language (BSL) users. The Scottish Government have defined a BSL user as a deaf and/or deafblind person (someone who received the language in a tactile form due to sight loss) whose first or preferred language is British Sign Language. It is expected that this entity would be updated during the lifetime of an Engagement. |
