Fee eligibility (FEEELIG)

Back to Student

Key Value
Name Fee eligibility
Short name FEEELIG
Part of Engagement (Engagement)
Description This field distinguishes between those students who are eligible to pay home fees and those who are not.
Applicable to England Northern Ireland Wales
Coverage All Engagements at providers in England, Northern Ireland and Wales
Notes

A student whose permanent home address on entry is in the Channel Islands or Isle of Man should be coded 02 Not eligible to pay home fees.

Code 03 eligibility to pay home fees not assessed should not be returned simply because the provider does not have different fees for home and non-UK students. This field relates to the students eligibility rather than the fee structure of a particular provider.

Code 03 may be used for incoming exchange students or some courses where the concept of home fees does not apply; a typical example would be full cost-recovery courses.

The allocation of a student to a fee eligibility should be consistent with the treatment in the HESES/early statistics return.
