for the UK
We are committed to making our statistics more useful and accessible and are therefore proposing to change the way Higher Education Statistics for the UK is published from 2017.
For more details, and to give feedback on this proposal, please see the proposed changes page.
Higher Education Statistics for the UK is published in conjunction with the Government Statistical Service and is a National Statistics product. A wide variety of data are presented from all of HESA’s data streams and other organisations. Much of the data are shown at sector level. This product serves as a quick reference guide to high-level data on all aspects of higher education in the UK.
Data from the Student Loans Company on student support provision and information on participation and graduate rates for 30 countries sourced from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development (OECD), and data from the Labour Force Survey are also included.
From the 2014/15 edition published in August 2016 HE Statistics for the UK will no longer include UCAS data on applications and admissions to HE providers. Such data can be sourced from UCAS end of cycle resources available at https://www.ucas.com/corporate/data-and-analysis/ucas-undergraduate-releases/ucas-undergraduate-end-cycle-data-resources.
