HESA Business Plan 2015/16
This document takes a brief look back at the past year and sets out a framework for our business plan for 2015/16. We are currently experiencing a high degree of change, with a sector in flux, and further changes to come. We cannot predict what data will be needed in the future, what changes will take place in the sector, or what will be made possible through further and faster technological development. We need to be flexible, adaptable, agile, and open to change. In this, we will continue to ensure that the needs of our customers and the users of our services remain our number one priority, and that the data we collect is useful and proportionate.
We will set out our priorities and activities for the year ahead within this strategic framework, and will also use this period to develop a longer-term vision and strategy, engaging our staff and stakeholders closely in this process. Our long-term strategy will be published before the start of the 2016/17 academic year. The priorities and activities in this current business plan nevertheless constitute a significant programme of change for the organisation, building towards a transformed HESA that can support an improved data collection and governance landscape for the sector in the future.
HESA exists to advance education by collecting, processing, and disseminating data on all aspects of the UK higher education sector. We are a charity and a company owned by the sector, and operate as an independent, autonomous service organisation. We work closely with higher education providers (HEPs), sector regulators, funders, government departments, policy-makers, and other stakeholders. We operate across all four countries of the UK.
