On Tuesday 28 February 2023 we published two new data tables showing where UK domiciled students lived before starting higher education, broken down by Local Area/Unitary Authority (LAUA).
The number of academic staff employed at UK higher education providers grew by 4% in 2021/22, matching the 4% rise in the number of students. The number of EU nationality academic staff fell by 1% while the number of non-EU nationality staff grew by 9%.
HESA researchers explore whether family composition may be a factor that explains why some students respond with ‘I don’t know’ when asked about the qualifications attained by their parents in the UCAS form.
The latest HESA research shows students living in areas with a higher proportion of lone parent families are less likely to know if any parent has higher education qualifications.
