Rob Phillpotts, new HESA Chief Executive

The HESA Board is pleased to announce that Rob Phillpotts, currently Managing Director of HESA Statutory, has been appointed HESA’s incoming Chief Executive.

Professor Sir Chris Husbands, Chair of HESA’s Board of Trustees, said: "I am delighted to welcome Rob into the role of CEO. His depth and breadth of experience will ensure HESA continues to build on the progress made under Paul’s stewardship. I look forward to working with him in what will be a very important year for HESA."

Outgoing Chief Executive, Paul Clark, said: "Rob has substantial knowledge and understanding of HESA’s purpose and processes, as well as of the needs of providers and our statutory customers. He has worked closely with me over the past five years, playing a leading role in developing and delivering HESA’s strategy and management plans, as well as leading the development and implementation of the Graduate Outcomes survey and sitting on the Data Futures Programme Board.

"Rob’s achievements at HESA, combined with his considerable leadership experience in digital and technology companies, mean he is ideally placed to lead HESA through the next phase, and I wish him, and all my colleagues at HESA, all the best for the future."

Rob Phillpotts said: "I'm very pleased to be leading HESA at this important time. HESA has an exciting year ahead and I look forward to working with colleagues to make the next chapter in our journey a success."

Paul will hand over to Rob following his departure on Friday 17 December.
