New data tables show UK student domicile by local authority

On Tuesday 28 February 2023 HESA published two new data tables as part of our Higher Education Student Data open data publication.

The two new tables show where UK domiciled students lived before starting higher education, broken down by Local Area/Unitary Authority (LAUA).

The LAUA breakdown enables users to compare the HESA data tables to geographic data published by other Official Statistics producers.

Table 61 shows HE student enrolments by domicile and region of HE provider in 2017/18 to 2021/22. This is a re-presentation of the data in Table 11.

Table 62 shows UK domiciled HE students by HE provider and domicile in 2017/18 to 2021/22. This is a re-presentation of the data in Table 59.
