  • Natural Gas Consumption (2013/14 - 2016/17)

    Prior to 2016/17, Harper Adams University included the value of EECNGSEX - Energy consumption natural gas excluding that used as input for a CHP unit as part of the value of EECCNGAS - Energy consumption compressed natural gas. As such EECNGSEX is incorrectly shown as 0 and values for EECCNGAS have been over-reported.

    De Montfort University have confirmed that the negative values for the following 2012/13 Estates Management record data items are correct, due to the service charges received by the university from their tenants exceeding the service charges paid to their landlords for leased space: FNRNSCM - Non-residential net service charge and miscellaneous PFI and PPP costs; FNSCTM - Total net service charge and miscellaneous PFI and PPP costs.

    The University of York has confirmed that a significant increase to the following Estates Management record data items between 2011/12 and 2012/13 is due to the inclusion of properties less than 500m2 as specified by the Department of Climate Change: ENRGIAA - Non-residential GIA in DEC or EPC category A; ENRGIAD - Non-residential GIA in DEC or EPC category D; ENRGIAG - Non-residential GIA in DEC or EPC category G.

  • Non-residential scope 3 carbon emissions from waste (2021/22)

    In 2021/22, The University of East Anglia lowered the values for Non-residential scope 3 carbon emissions from waste (E3NRCEW) from previous years. The value decreased from 745.662 t CO2e to 42 t CO2e. This was due to the inclusion of virgin material emissions in their 2020/21 submission, which was later identified as an error.

    In 2013/14, The University of Lincoln have confirmed that they incorrectly reported their (ENRWCON) Non-residential water consumption as 67,741m3. Their value for Non-residential water consumption should have been 63,608m3.

  • Number of buildings (2013/14)

    In 2013/14, University of the Arts London reported that due to a change of treatment and process their figures for Number of buildings and Number of sites may have a significant change in comparison to 2012/13 figures. A review of this data led to the adoption of a more consistent and comparable approach and a revision to the values returned for these items. The non-residential disposals during the year reflected in the Gross Internal Area (GIA) and Net Internal Area (NIA) totals were for properties that would have been counted as one site and three buildings using the revised treatment.

    The University of Worcester have misreported their percentage of renewable energy purchased through green tariffs in the 2014/15 EMR return. In 2014/15 and for the past two years, they have procured all their electricity from 100% renewable sources.

  • Ratios (2012/13)

    Middlesex University has confirmed that the significant change to some of their Estates Management record ratios and data items relating to area, teaching space and property costs between years 2011/12 and 2012/13 is due to the closure of their Trent Park campus.

    The Central School of Speech and Drama has omitted staff FTE data from their 2012/13 EMR return in error. This has resulted in the following ratios appearing as null: Water consumption per student and staff FTE; Waste mass per student and staff FTE; Academic office net internal area per academic staff FTE; Support office net internal area per support office staff FTE; Gross internal area in metre2 per student and staff full-time equivalent FTE; Scope 1 and 2 carbon emissions per student and staff full-time equivalent FTE.
