If a member of staff has more than one qualification, higher education providers (HEPs) should decide which qualification is the 'highest'. In cases where it is unclear which qualification is the 'highest' enter the valid entry code that is closest to 01.

Valid entry code 01 includes both traditional research and professional doctorates

Valid entry code 02 includes Masters.

Valid entry code 31 and code 32 belong to a set of qualification levels in the UK and Ireland available from the QAA publication Qualifications can cross boundaries - a rough guide to comparing qualifications in the UK and Ireland.

Valid entry code 97 includes any overseas or UK qualification that is not listed.

This field should be updated when an existing member of staff gains a higher qualification than that already held.
