Notes |
Placements for trainees can be added at any time. For example, a trainee’s first known placement can be added at the census date, and when a trainee starts their second placement this can be included in the next HESA update in April or July. A trainee should have at least two placements during their training. Training programmes are designed to provide trainee teachers with sufficient time being trained in schools, early years and/or further education settings to enable them to demonstrate that they have met all the standards for QTS. This means they would typically be structured to include at least the following periods of time to be spent in training in schools, early years or further education settings:
Extract from current ITT Criteria located on gov.uk. These time periods show the minimum number of days a trainee should spend in all their placements combined, not the number of days they should spend in one placement. Note: If a trainee has been to more than five placements, they should return the five they were at for the longest period of time. Where the number of planned days spent at the placement school is not known, code ‘999’ can be returned. |
