Key Information Set 2013/14Fields required from institutions in ScotlandLocation identifier | return to field list |
Type | field |
Short name | LOCID |
Description |
This field records the institution's own identifier for a teaching location. |
Applicable to | England Northern Ireland Scotland Wales |
Coverage | All KISCourses where KISCourse.KISTYPE = 1 or 2 and KISCourse.DISTANCE = 0 |
Notes |
This field records a two character identifier for the teaching location. KISCourse.LOCID must be the same as that submitted in Location.LOCID. This field must not be returned when KISCourse.KISTYPE = 3, or when KISCourse.DISTANCE = 1. Example 1 - Institution owned campus
Example 2 - A franchise partner
If the majority of the first year of the KIS Course is undertaken at a single location, as indicated by Location.LOCID, then that Location.LOCID should be repeated in KISCourse.LOCID. If the course is undertaken at multiple locations in the first year, KISCourse.LOCID should represent the location where the majority of time is spent. If time is split evenly between locations, then KISCourse.LOCID should represent a central location for all first year components. There may be cases where the course can be undertaken at more than one location, for example, where the first year of the course is taken wholly at three different further education colleges (FECs) before moving to an HEI. In such cases, KISCourse.LOCID should be returned three times, each pointing to the different FECs. |
