Maximum fee for Wales domicile
return to field list
This field records the average maximum annual fee for the course for a Wales domiciled student.
|Applicable to||England Northern Ireland Scotland Wales|
This field should give the average maximum annual fee for the course as a whole for a student domiciled in Wales. The fees for placement years and study years abroad will be lower than for years spent at the home provider. This should be reflected in calculating KISCourse.WAFEE to the extent that this is included within the learning and teaching methods. Therefore, where a course has a full year on placement the value in KISCourse.WAFEE will typically be significantly below the fee for each year at the provider. For example, where a three year degree is advertised as having a sandwich year this will be reflected in the learning and teaching methods via a year with 100% placement, if the fees charged whilst at the provider are £9,000 per annum and the fee for the sandwich year is £1,000 then the value in KISCourse.WAFEE would be £7,000 ((£9,000+£9,000+£1,000+£9,000)/4).
The value should not be reduced to reflect any fee waivers or discounts that are offered. In particular, the fee should not be reduced to account for the fee grant paid by HEFCW for Welsh students.
Where it is the case that the fees for all students on the course are paid for by the NHS/SHA the maximum fee should be returned as 0. This is only the case where there is no possibility for a student on that course to pay their own fees, for example if the provider can recruit above the NHS/SHA numbers, full fee information would have to be returned.
This field must not be returned where KISCourse.KISTYPE = 3.
