ITT C21053: Notification of changes

The following information outlines the changes to the ITT record that will be implemented for 2021/22.  The full technical specification will be published in April 2021.

Please note, there may be further changes to C21053. We are continuing to seek requirements from the Department for Education (DfE) throughout February 2021. Any additional changes will be released as a supplementary notification of changes as soon as possible.

Removal of Valid Entries

ITTPHSC - ITT phase/scope

51          Foundation Stage & KS1 (age ranges 3-8)

52          Foundation Stage, KS1 & KS2 (age ranges 3-11)

53          KS1 & KS2 (age ranges 5 - 11)

54          KS2 & KS3 (age ranges 7 - 14)

55          KS3 & KS4 (age ranges 11 - 16)

56          KS3, KS4 & post-16 (age ranges 11 - 18)

57          KS4 & post-16 (age ranges 14 - 19)

72          Ages 3 - 8 Primary

These codes were for age ranges applicable for courses that took place between 2002 and 2007. Recent analysis shows there are extremely low numbers of these codes being submitted (15 instances in 2020). It has been determined that it is now acceptable to remove these codes from this field.

Addition of Valid Entries

DEGEST - Previous degree establishment

This list will be updated to include all exisiting HESA subscribers to both the Student and Student Alternative return.

Coverage Changes

Previous Qualification entity

QLAIM 032 - Masters, not by research added to the coverage of the Previous Qualification entity. See below the new coverage statement:

All postgraduate course entrants, that is, students where Student.COMDATE is in the current reporting period where Student.QLAIM is a postgraduate qualification (Student.QLAIM = 020, 021, 031, 032) or (Student.TTCID = 1 and Student.ITTAIM = 201)
