Following a query from a provider, the NMC have confirmed that the accreditation labels should be updated for the CurriculumAccreditation.CURACCID, QualificationAwardAccreditation.QUALAWARDACCID and StudentAccreditationAim.STUACCID fields. The new labels should be (change being made in bold):

  • 11102   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (adult)
  • 11103   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (mental health)
  • 11104   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (learning disabilities)
  • 11105   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse (child)
  • 11106   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified midwife
  • 11107   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) as a post-registration and CPD qualification
  • 11108   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nurse or midwife
  • 11109   Approved by the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) for the purpose of registration as a qualified nursing associate

Valid entry 03 “ERASMUS +” from the OffVenueActivity.MOBSCHEME field is expected to be removed at some point in the future, as the last of the enrolments for the scheme will be on 31 December 2023. The valid entry will remain for 2024/25 but validation will be added to flag any providers returning the code. The valid entry will be removed from 2025/26.

The entry qualification data for students studying on ITT courses will be moved into a new entity called PGEntryQualificationAward. This means that the EntryQualificationAward entity will only collect level 3 qualifications for tariff calculations. The coverage will remain as is:

“For providers in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales is it encouraged to supply this information for all students whose highest qualification on entry is at level 3 however this is only required for UCAS entrants.

For providers in England this is additionally collected for any students whose permanent home address on entry is in the UK and whose highest qualification on entry is at level 3 or is an access to HE course.”

The new entity will have the following fields included:

  • Degree identifier (DEGREEID) – currently returned in ENTRYQUALAWARDID
  • Degree class (DEGREECLASS) – currently returned in ENTRYQUALAWARDRESULT
  • Own degree identifier (DEGREEOWNQUALID) – currently returned in OWNQUALID
  • Degree type (DEGREETYPEID) – currently returned in QUALTYPEID
  • Postgraduate entry qualification subject (PGEntryQualificationSubject) entity
    • Degree subject (DEGREESUBJECTID) – currently returned in SUBJECTID

ITT changes for providers in England - under review

DfE have requested that previously deleted valid entries are reinstated into ITT and Student collections. For Student this will be in the StudentAccreditationAim.STUACCID and QualificationAwrdedAccreditation.QUALAWARDACCID fields. The following valid entries will be added (for providers in England only):

  • Accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) for the purpose of delivering initial teacher training programmes to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Ages 14-19
  • Accredited by the Department for Education (DfE) for the purpose of delivering initial teacher training programmes to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Ages 11-18

The current Engagement.LEADSCHOOL will be removed and replaced with a similar field called Engagement.LEADPARTNER. This will align with changes in the DfE's Register system.

Changes not yet been agreed

We have received feedback from providers that the more complex coverage statements could be written better as it isn’t always clear when there are exception cases, or where data could be mandatory or optional. We may try to rewrite the structure of these in a more easily understood manner, but won’t change the meaning of the coverage statements.

Exact details of what needs changing are not yet known, but are expected to be confirmed by quarter one in 2024.
