The data analytics teams within HESA and Jisc have been exploring closer working relations for some time and have successfully delivered several collaborative data analytical products and services over the years. These include Heidi Plus, Analytics Labs and Community Dashboards.
This announcement means that these products, plus a range of new products and services in the pipeline, will now be delivered by Jisc.
As the trusted source of HE information, HESA will continue to collect, assure and disseminate UK-wide higher education data. HESA will focus on supporting the higher education sector’s need for authoritative, timely and secure data. Through its range of collection and support activities, HESA helps higher education providers meet their regulatory data requirements and publishes information through Official Statistics products and Open Data.
The HESA website sees a number of changes today to reflect the integration. Navigation for the main sections of the website have changed to provide more focus on HESA’s core activities: access to Open Data, Data Collection, and the Support we offer for providers and data users.
Paul Clark, Chief Executive of HESA said:
“I believe this integration provides a great opportunity to better deliver the analytics, underpinned by trusted HESA Data that you need to make informed decisions.”
