This field describes the general qualification aim of the Initial Teacher Training course and is intended to record the qualification that will be attained as a result of successful completion of studies.

Code 027 QTS Award only is applicable to providers that have School Direct trainees for whom there is no academic award, but there is an award of Qualified Teacher Status. This code should only be used for learners on a School Direct Training Programme (Student.TTCID code G).

Code 029 QTS Assessment only is applicable to providers that have been accredited to provide 'Assessment only' courses.

Codes 032 - 034 are only applicable to providers offering Early Years Initial Teacher Training (EYITT) leading to the award of Early Years Teacher Status (EYTS). Such students must be coded as Q 'Early Years Initial Teacher Training' in Student.TTCID.
