Notes

Code 4 'The student has transferred to a new qualification aim. That is the student has withdrawn from this qualification aim & as a direct result has at the same time started studying for another qualification aim' is only valid for providers in Wales.

Code 6 'Learner has temporarily withdrawn from the aim due to an agreed break in learning' is only valid for providers in England.

Further Education - Agreed breaks in learning (Skills Funding Agency funded provision in England)

Code 6 should be used in circumstances where the learner is taking an agreed break in learning and is planning to return, for example, for sick leave or maternity leave.

When a learner returns from an agreed break in learning, a new instance should be created.

Where a learner does not return from an agreed break in learning this field should be changed to code 3 – withdrawn.

For EFA funded learning aims, breaks in learning are not recorded.
