This document summarises all communications associated with the 2022/23 Staff record. Please refer to the revision history document for full technical list of changes to the specifications.

HESA issue regular communications during the life of a collection:

• Circulars: announcements to interested parties concerning or issues relating to the collection. Circulars are always made available on the HESA website for later reference, and emailed out to the mailgroup for the collection.
• Coding manual release overviews: these document iterative changes to the technical documentation that define the form of the data to be submitted, as well as being a place to host resources associated with collecting that data.

2023-07-26 Coding manual release - Version 1.7

Version 1.7 of the coding manual includes:

• First release of the credibility reporting definitions for the 22025 collection.

2023-07-05 Coding manual release - Version 1.6

Version 1.6 of the coding manual includes:

• First release of the derived field specifications for the 22025 collection.

2023-05-11 Coding manual release - Version 1.5

Version 1.5 of the coding manual includes:

• Addition of the clinical academic staff salary values to the coding manual.
• Addition of the HESA XML Data Entry Tool to the coding manual.
• Addition of the documentation for How to use the HESA XML Data Entry Tool to the coding manual.
• Addition of the quality rules to the coding manual.
• Addition of the C22025 support guide to the coding manual.
• Addition of the validation kit to the coding manual.
• Update to coverage and valid entries of the field for Person.MARSTAT.
• Addition of valid entry 18 (British Association for Sport Rehabilitators and Trainers (BaSRAT)) to the field Person.REGBODY.

2023-03-15 Coding manual release - Version 1.4

Version 1.4 of the coding manual includes:

• Release of the documentation detailing the file structures for downloadable files.

2023-03-01 Coding manual release - Version 1.3

Version 1.3 of the coding manual includes:

• Update to schema level validation for CAMPIDType in c22025datatypes.xsd.
• Valid entries added to Person.CLINARD and associated guidance updated.
• Valid entry updates for Person.DISABLE, Person.ETHNIC and Person.PREVHEI.
• Guidance update for Person.BSL, Person.ETHNIC and Person.GENDERID.
• Coverage of the field update for Person.BSL.
• Field description update for Person.TRANS.
• Release of the documentation detailing the single pay spine under the 'further guidance' section of the coding manual.

2022-11-30 Coding manual release - Version 1.2

Version 1.2 of the coding manual includes:

• Updated guidance for Contract.CAMPID and Person.OWNSTAFFID.
• Updated valid entry label for Person.DISABLE.
• Field length increase for Contract.CAMPID.

2022-11-07 Coding manual release - Version 1.1

Version 1.1 of the coding manual includes:

• Guidance updates for Person.SEXID.

2022-10-27 Coding manual release - Version 1.0

Version 1.0 of the coding manual includes the first release of documentation for the Staff record 2022/23. This includes the schema, field specifications and guidance.

Changes in this release include:

• Field Person.GENREASSIGN (gender reassignment) renamed Person.GENDERID (gender identity).
• Valid entry updates for Person.DISABLE, Person.ETHNIC, Person.GENDERID, Person.PREVHEI, Person.RELBLF, Person.SEXID and Person.SEXORT.
• Guidance has been updated for the field contracts.RESAST.
• Coverage has been updated for Person.GENDERID, Person.RELBLF and Person.SEXORT.
• New fields Person.BSL, Person.MARSTAT and Person.TRANS have been added for the 22025 collection.
