Discover Uni record 2024/25 - Notification log.
This document summarises all communications associated with the 2024/25 Discover Uni collection, from first publication of known changes to the record through to collection closure in July 2025. Please refer to the revision history document for full technical list of changes to the specifications.
HESA issue regular communications during the life of a collection:
- Circulars: announcements to interested parties concerning or issues relating to the collection. Circulars are always made available on the HESA website for later reference, and emailed out to the mailgroup for the collection.
- Coding manual release overviews: these document iterative changes to the technical documentation that define the form of the data to be submitted, as well as being a place to host resources associated with collecting that data.
2024-05-01 Coding manual release - version 1.1
Version 1.1 includes the following:
- First release of HESA XML data entry tool, How to use the HESA XML data entry tool and Validation kit download.
- Updated coverage for HESACourse and ILRAims.
- Updated valid entries for HESACourse.HESAYEAR and ILRAims.ILRYEAR.
- Updated guidance for HESACourse.HESACOURSEID, ILRAims, KISCourse.UCASPROGID and CourseLocation.UCASCOURSEID.
- The Accreditation information table, List of KIS course aims, Professional, Statutory and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs) and course accreditation, UCAS and HESA Glossary for Discover Uni Course Management and UCAS and HESA Discover Uni Process for Providers C24061 (2024/25) documents have been released under the 'Supporting documentation' section.
- The data collection schedule has been released under 'Overview'.
- Additional guidance has been added to the Coverage and Introduction.
2024-01-31 Coding manual release - version 1.0
Version 1.0 includes the following:
- The first release of documentation for Discover Uni record 2024/25.
- The name of the collection has been changed from Unistats to Discover Uni from C24061 onwards.
- Guidance within the coverage has been updated to reference the new 056 data stream.
