University of Birmingham data are not included in this submission [the 2018/19 Estates Management Record data], in line with the OfS letter to institutions dated 25 March 2020, which set out reduced regulatory requirements during the Covid-19 outbreak, including that the Estates Management Record 2018-19 did not need to be returned by the previously set deadline.

HESA (Higher Education Statistics Agency) are the experts in UK higher education data and analysis. We have been collecting estates data since the 2009/10 academic year.

We provide data and analysis to a wide variety of customers, including:

  • Governments
  • Universities (via the Heidi Plus analytics tool)
  • Academic and commercial researchers
  • Students and potential students
  • Policy makers.

Our data is used to regulate the sector, inform policy making, advance understanding of social and economic trends, support student decision making, and enhance public understanding of - and confidence in - the higher education sector.

HE provider

In tables where multiple academic years of data are shown, the provider's name in the latest academic year is used throughout. See Provider mergers and changes for further information.
