10% of full-time first degree students studied on sandwich courses in 2012/13. However sandwich courses were less popular with female students. 7% of female students studied on sandwich courses compared with 12% of male students.

In 2012/13 7,275 students started HE level chemistry courses at UK HE providers. 42% of those students were female and 20% were from outside the UK.

In the last five years at least 780 qualifiers from Agriculture and related subjects were in employment overseas six months after graduating.

HESA publication 'Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education Institutions 2012/13' released. The publication, released on Thursday 24 July 2014, provides extensive coverage of the 2012/13 DLHE survey.

Indicators for employment of leavers are published today on the HESA website.

This Statistical First Release (SFR) has been produced by the Higher Education Statistics Agency (HESA), in collaboration with statisticians from the Department for Business, Innovation and Skills (BIS), the Welsh Government (WG), the Scottish Government (SG) and the Department for Employment and Learning Northern Ireland (DEL(NI)). It has been released according to the arrangements approved by the UK Statistics Authority. The SFR provides details of the destinations of UK and other European Union domiciled leavers from higher education (HE) who obtained qualifications in higher education institutions (HEIs) in the United Kingdom (UK), during the academic year 2012/13. The data presented draws on the 2012/13 Destinations of Leavers from Higher Education (DLHE) survey and presents time series analysis relating to 2011/12 when the revised DLHE survey was introduced.

HESA publication 'Finances of Higher Education Institutions 2012/13' released today.

Finances of Higher Education Institutions 2012/13 shows that UK HE institutions (HEIs) spent £2.4 billion on buildings and £0.7 billion on equipment in 2012/13, giving a total capital expenditure of £3.1 billion.
