Collection design project
Please note, version 3 pages are still available for your reference, but we have disabled links to avoid confusion: please refer to the Data Futures Resources page for project documents for your consideration.
We have launched the Data Futures programme to create a more efficient and timely approach to data collection across the sector. The programme aims to deliver a new approach to data collection beginning in 2019/20.
The Collection Design project has built upon work by the HEDIIP Data Language project. In the three design phases, it has proposed, consulted and published collection schedules, specifications and models to support in-year collection.
This had the goal of defining a model of student data collection to meet the requirements of a broad range of stakeholders, and to allow HE providers to adopt a more efficient and effective approach to data submission.
The project closed at the end of February 2017 as scheduled in the wider Data Futures programme. The outputs from the project will inform and steer the Detailed Design phase, which started March 2017. Project documents are available in the Data Futures Resources area. We will continue to communicate and consult as the design further evolves into and through the alpha and beta phases.
Please note all documents are part of recommendations for the Detailed Design phase, and should be considered work in progress as part of the Data Futures programme.
