Coverage of Instance.ENTRYRTE (providers in England)

The coverage of Instance.ENTRYRTE will be updated to the following:

All Instances at providers in England where Course.TTCID = 1 and Instance.REDUCEDI = 00, 01 or 04.

This makes the field required for dormant students to ensure the Department for Education (DfE) have an entry route recorded for each teacher training student. The route is a key data item in terms of bursary values, performance monitoring and qualification aims.

Update to Instance.ITTSCHMS and Instance.INITIATIVES valid entries (Providers in England)

The following valid entries from Instance.ITTSCHMS are no longer active schemes from C20051 onwards:

  • 4- Extended PGCE (Supplementary training bursary)
  • 5- Two-year full-time top up undergraduate degree (DfE funded)
  • 6- Primary modern languages programme (DfE funded)

The following valid entry from Instance.INITIATIVES is no longer an active initiative from C20051 onwards:

  • L- Primary General (with Maths)

The valid entries will remain in the schema as they can still be used for continuing students. The guidance in Instance.INITIATIVES and Instance.ITTSCHMS will be updated and validation added to reflect these changes.

Financial support guidance (providers in England)

The guidance for the FinancialSupport entity will be updated so that the FinancialSupport should be returned in the reporting year in which the student received the support.

Previously the guidance was that the FinancialSupport should be returned in the reporting year in which the decision to award the support was made.

This will allow the Office for Students to more accurately monitor providers’ commitments in their access and participation plans.
