Unistats Record 2019/20 (C19061): Notification of Changes
This document summarises the changes to the Unistats Record that will be implemented for 2019/20.
New Fields
The OfS have requested that two new fields are added to the C19061 return. These fields will capture the course cost URL.
1. KISCourse.CRSECSTURL
This field will be used to link directly to information about course costs. This should include both tuition fees and any additional course related costs that the student is likely to incur. Information provided should meet providers’ obligations under consumer law as articulated in the Competition and Market Authority’s compliance advice.
You should ensure that the link provided takes users directly to a page where course costs are available. If course costs are part of the main course landing page, where the user will need to scroll to see the information you should provide a link which takes the user directly to the relevant part of the page.
Minimum and maximum occurrences for this field will be set to 1.
2. KISCourse.CRSECSTURLW
This field will be used to link directly to information about course costs. This should include both tuition fees and any additional course related costs that the student is likely to incur. You should ensure that the link provided takes users directly to a page where course costs are available. If course costs are part of the main course landing page, where the user will need to scroll to see the information you should provide a link which takes the user directly to the relevant part of the page.
This field must not exist unless the provider is in Wales. Validation will ensure that this is returned for Welsh Providers.
Change to guidance of existing fields
As a result of the new fields listed above the guidance to two existing fields will be updated to remove reference to costs as follows:
1 a. KISCourse.CRSEURL
This field will be used to provide a link to the main course page on the provider's website.
For dual or combined honours programmes, url links should direct students to information on a relevant course page, recognising that they may need to follow links from that page to understand how some elements of the programme will be delivered.
This field is required for all KISCourses.
Valid URL
This field must contain a valid website URL. Providers must ensure that URLs are active and link to the correct page. Validation checks will only check for basic structure, to ensure that the URL starts with either http or https and contains only Latin non-accented characters.
