One of the biggest challenges we all face in the HE information landscape is understanding the range and nature of data collections that take place.
The inventory of HE data collections has been created in order to:
- Identify all the organisations that are understood to collect data and information specifically about higher education in the UK
- Give details (where known) about the data and information these organisations collect.

This inventory is designed to help data collectors gain a better understanding of what other collections are being undertaken and to enhance HE providers’ understanding of which data collections they are responding to.
The inventory of HE data collections was created in 2013 and redesigned in 2015. If you spot any errors or omissions, please let us know.
